Имена Героев Советского Союза Георгия Ивановича Хетагурова и Семена Васильевича Руднева увековечены на Стеле героев Отечества в Хабаровске. С такой инициативой выступила ветеранская общественность города. В торжественной церемонии, прошедшей на площади Славы, приняли участие мэр Хабаровска Сергей Кравчук, ветераны и школьники.
Отметим, что Георгий Хетагуров и Семен Руднев – легендарные личности, чьи биографии наполнены трагическими событиями. Судьба их свела в начале тридцатых годов на берегу залива Де-Кастри, где были созданы укрепленный район и военно-морская база для защиты восточного побережья страны от возможного нападения японской армии, которая находилась совсем рядом, на средней и южной частях Сахалина.
– Эти имена связаны с историей Хабаровска и Хабаровского края. И Руднев, и Хетагуров служили на Дальнем Востоке. Они участвовали в Великой Отечественной войне, они ковали победу на фронтах, – сказал Сергей Кравчук.
За поддержку общественной инициативы мэр города поблагодарил правительство Хабаровского края. После официальной церемонии участники возложили цветы к Стеле героев Отечества.
